How Do I Use the DunGen Deck?

However you like!

That said, there are a few methods that may make things a little easier.

Version 1: Split Decks

This method may be easier for newer DM's, or lower level campaigns.

Start by seperating the Creatures Deck into piles, grouped by CR colour. Creature difficulty scales according to the table below.

Difficulty 1:
CR 0-1
Difficulty 2:
CR 2-3
Difficulty 3:
CR 4-6
Difficulty 4:
CR 7-9
Difficulty 5:
CR 10-19
Difficulty 6:
CR 20+

Shuffle each deck (Dungeons, Effects, and each seperated Creature Deck), keeping them seperate.

Draw first from the Dungeons Deck, and secondly from the Effects Deck. Begin pulling Creatures from the appropriate difficulty decks, as indicated on the Dungeon and Effect card.

Version 2: Random Selection

This method will likely result in either the easiest, or most difficult dungeon you could create from these decks. By randomly pulling from the Creatures Deck, you may end up with a dungeon full of badgers and foxes, bossed by an Ancient Dragon.

Shuffle each of the decks, drawing first from the Dungeons Deck, and then from the Effects Deck. Begin pulling Creatures from the appropriate difficulty decks, as indicated on the Dungeon and Effect card.

Version 3: Manual Selection

This method will require some prior knowledge of creatures, or a little bit of reading.

Without shuffling the decks, draw first from the Dungeons Deck, and then from the Effects Deck. Begin pulling Creatures of your choice from the Creatures Deck, until you feel the dungeon has reached an appropriate level of difficulty.
